Island Purified has signed on as the official water provider for Sugar Mas 51. The handing-
over ceremony took place on Thursday, December 1 at their Outlet in Basseterre.
Manager, Murica Powell, represented Island Purified and handed over a cheque of
EC$20,000 to Clement Ogarro, Public Relations Officer for the St Kitts Nevis National
Carnival Committee (SKNNCC).
Ms. Powell shared that the company is proud to partner with the SKNNCC and hopes to
be on board for many years. Island Purified Water is a 100% local water company based
in Newton Ground and has been operating for 26 years in the local and regional markets.
Established in 1996, the company provides its patrons with fresh, thirst-quenching water, and
can customize bottles for any organization or event.
In accepting the cheque, Mr. Ogarro expressed his satisfaction with the management of
Island Purified Water for their commitment to community and cultural development. He
stated that the sponsorship would go a long way in assisting with staging the best Carnival
in the history of St Kitts Nevis. Island Purified Water will be the only bottled water available in
Carnival Village.
Sugar Mas 51 opens on Friday, December 3rd with a parade from the National Museum to
Carnival Village at 5pm. This will be followed by a spectacular opening presentation at
Carnival Village dubbed Sugar Mas “Wonderland”. The Official opening ceremony
commences at 7pm.
