The colour ‘BLACK’ is POWER and in our National Flag it represents our African Heritage. NOIR depicts the gift of opportunity and appreciation to ancestors especially those who fought to get us to where we are today. Young revellers in the NOIR division symbolises the strength of our people; for we are not only intelligent, and resourceful but we are deeply propelled by Ancient wisdom which is the real power behind our National Pride.
The stars in our National Flag represent “Hope” and “Liberty” and the colour ‘WHITE’ is one of importance. Young revellers in this division showcase a level of sophistication coupled with naturalness and purity as they are intended to portray everything that is GOOD about St. Kitts & Nevis. BUOYANT embodies CLARITY, POSITIVITY and NEW beginnings for our people.
‘YELLOW' in our national flag represents SUNSHINE and SKN has a whole lot of it year round. Young revellers in this segment showcase the vibrant and cheerful nature of our SKN people. A day in SKN is a day well spent. Laughter is often the order of the day so this section will be far from mellow, everyone is always much happier when decked out in yellow.
In our national flag the colour ‘GREEN’ represents our Fertile Land. However for this
section dubbed SUCRE, the star is our sweet, sweet sugarcane. Nationals near and far
beam with pride whenever the name “Sugar City” is echoed and for this reason alone
it is only fitting that our young revellers represent the rebirth of what once made us
stand out despite our small size. SUCRE is the Sugar Renewal.
This section for the Junior Carnival Parade proudly showcases the national colour ‘RED’. Although red signifies blood which is historically associated with sacrifice, danger and courage, the National Flower, the Poinciana, is being represented here because of its lush red colour along with its unique and very beautiful appearance. Young revellers in this section should feel proud leading the charge in telling the world that SKN is full of people who are PASSIONATE, LOVING and JOYFUL.
We are both dedicated to contributing to a much bigger Sugar Mas experience and one of our goals is to reach a larger audience regionally and internationally.
